A little long-distance relationship advice: keep making plans for yourself, too.
It’s easy to organise everything around the next visit. You look forward to the days together so much that the time in between can start to feel like something to get through.
Give yourself a few things to look forward to where you are, too. See your friends. Try the thing you’ve been putting off. Go out for a coffee. Yes, coffee absolutely counts as a plan.
Keep sharing the little parts of your day with each other—the silly story, the photo you took, something that made you laugh. Having your own life gives you more of those ordinary things to share.
You can miss your person and still have a lovely day. You can wish they were beside you and still enjoy what’s in front of you.
Your life is happening between visits, too.
